Visit from the Farm

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Nursery R & V Year: 2025 - 2026

Today in Nursery we had a visit from a mobile Farm. The farm brought lots of animals to us onto the school field and we got to meet the animals and touch them. We learnt what the animals were, what their names were and also about what we called different parts of their bodies e.g. snout, trotters, hoofs, tail… We also learnt the names of the baby animals as we had a calf, kid, lambs and piglet. This visit has really helped the children with their understanding of the world and being able to see the farm animals up close has helped to embed their knowledge of the animals and where they come from and who looks after them. Please find below some photos from the children’s experience. We are sure you can tell by their delighted faces how much they have enjoyed this experience.

Here are the names and photos of the animals as well so you can talk to your child about them if you like.
