Our SEMH resource provision
Our SEMH resource provision at Ashbury Meadow offers a bespoke, nurture based curriculum that prioritises the social and emotional development of the pupils and their readiness to learn. There are limited places and the children who attend are placed by the local authority in order to meet their specific needs.
A high ratio of adults to children and an individualised curriculum supports the children to develop not only their academic learning, but also their social skills, self-help, emotional literacy and self regulation in a way that suits their different learning needs and styles.
Our aim is that children from our SEMH provision develop the skills to be able to join a range of mainstream lessons and activities with the rest of the school, offering the pupils an opportunity to integrate and build relationships with their wider peer group.
The SEMH provision has 2 classes - the Squirrels and the Hedgehogs. The Squirrels are the youngest children, who will then move on to Hedgehogs when they are ready, based on their development and age.
