School Council Attends The Big School Climate Assembly
Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom
Our School Council recently attended The Big School Climate Assembly at Manchester City Council Chambers. The event brought together students from across Manchester to share ideas and learn about sustainability projects taking place in schools.
During the day, pupils watched presentations, took part in workshops, and spoke with organisations about ways to make schools more environmentally friendly. They also attended a Q&A session with City Councillors about Manchester’s work to tackle climate change.
After the event, the School Council met with our Eco Team to share what they had learned and help develop our Climate Action Plan. Together, they are working on ideas to make Ashbury Meadow Primary School greener through initiatives such as recycling, reducing waste, conserving water, and improving wildlife habitats.
The experience was inspiring and has motivated our pupils to continue making a positive difference for the environment!
