Looking after our chicks in EYFS

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Reception M & W Year: 2022 - 2023

In Eyfs this half term our topic has been 'Animals'. The children have learnt lots about animals past and present, their habitats, their diet, whether they are wild or domestic and the different places they can be found. They have also learnt about different lifecycles. The children have helped to look after caterpillars until they turned into beautiful butterflies and we had some eggs delivered from a local farm that hatched into little chicks. The chidlren have loved having these little feathery friends in the class and have gained lots of hands on experiences from this.
