Autumn Walk 1 2022

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Nursery R & J Year: 2022 - 2023

This morning as part of our Friday Investigation lesson we took the children for an Autumn walk around the school grounds to look for signs of Autumn. Before we left the classroom the children were reminded of their good looking and listen skills that we would need for the walk to look for the signs of Autumn. We all got on our Nursery train (class walking hoops) and off we went. The children were brilliant listening and looking for the things we have been learning about this week in our Literacy lessons whilst reading the story 'Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn' by Kenard Pak.  The children listened to the wind and talked about how the wind was blowing the leaves from the trees. We found different coloured leaves on the ground which we took back to our classroom and placed in our investigation box and on our Autumn window pane in the classroom. The children really had fun and enjoyed the experience. We even spotted a squirrel in the trees!
