Earth Day

Earth Day

On Thursday 29th April Ashbury Meadow Primary School took part in a whole school Earth Day. Earth Day is the annual event dedicated to awareness about the various environmental challenges that face our planet.

Co-ordinated by the Earth Day Network, 193 countries around the world have their own version of celebrations. The 2021 version of Earth Day was the 50th anniversary of the event. The theme for Earth Day 2021 is ‘restore our earth’.

We started with a morning assembly where we introduced Earth Day to the school. The rest of the day was then spent doing LOTC (learning outside of the classroom) activities such as drawing landscapes, wildlife scavenger hunting and volcano dancing and painting our amazing Harold’s the Giraffes.

Our Tower of Giraffes can now be spotted around Ashbury Meadow, here they are in our sensory garden!
